Josephina B Vasquez, 84, of Odessa entered into eternal peace on July 1, 2015 surrounded by her family at her residence in Odessa, Texas.
Visitation will be held 10am - 9pm Saturday, July 4, 2015 and 12pm - 9pm Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Martinez Funeral Home.
Rosary will be held at 7pm Sunday, July 5, 2015 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Mass will be held at 10am Monday, July 6, 2015 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Chavez officiating. Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery in Rosehill Garden. Services are entrusted to Martinez Funeral Home.
Josephina was born in Loving, New Mexico on June 13, 1931 to Manuel Balles and Luciana Carrasco. She married Manuel Vasquez Sr. on January 29, 1949 in Monahans, Texas. Josephina was a very soft spoken, timid and religious lady. She was dedicated to her family and church and a member of the Legion of Mary.
Josephina is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Manuel Vasquez Sr., son - Manuel Vasquez Jr., grandsons - Raul Vasquez Jr. and Alex Rodriguez, great-granddaughter - Sadie Munoz, sisters - Manuela Valencia and Lilia Calderon.
Josephina is survived by her ten children. Sons - Ray (Sylvia) Vasquez, Raul (Bertha) Vasquez, and Daniel (Celina) Vasquez. Daughters - Mary (Victor Jr.) Nunez, Laura (Juan) Armendariz, Corina (Jose Medina) Rodriguez, Terry (Armando) Munoz, Gloria (Edward) Chabera, Vicky Vasquez, and Christina Fininen, twenty nine grandchildren, sixty three great - grandchildren and six great - great - grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Captain Martin Nunez, Michael Nunez, Jason Munoz, Jaime Flotte, Jonathan Lujan, Anthony Vasquez, Raul Vasquez and Sarina Galindo.
