Juanita H. Banuelos, 88, Completed her journey here on this earth on July 8, 2020 in Odessa, Texas.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 13, 2020 from 9:00AM – 4:00PM at Martinez Funeral Home in Odessa, Texas. Due to the current State mandate, all persons attending the viewing must wear facial masks and maintain social distancing.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Juanita at 2:00 PM Tuesday July 14, 2020 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.  The church is requiring those that will be in attendance, must wear a facial mask and maintain social distancing while inside of the church. Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery – Rosehill Section. The Cemetery is requiring that everyone who attends the burial to be wearing a facial mask and to maintain social distancing.

Juanita H. Banuelos was born in Ojinaga, Mexico to Jesus Hernandez and Francisca Garcia on May 16, 1932. She married Santiago P. Banuelos on May 3, 1958.

Juanita H. Banuelos grew up in Presidio raised by her grandmother with her primo hermanos. She met the love of her life Santiago P. Banuelos when she was 25 years old, working at this family’s restaurant in Pecos. They married on May 3, 1958 and shortly after moved to Odessa where they settled down and continued to grow their family. She always wanted to have a large family seeing as she only met her siblings later in life. Having such a large family and coming from humble beginnings she remained a homemaker her whole life. She devoted her entire life to be a loving caring woman who cared for her husband and family in every way possible. She would always make sure everyone was fed, clothed and nurtured, she was stern in teaching us good morals and values, but also always had an ear to listen and heart of gold. Not only did she cook, sew sing and make us laugh she was handy and would help her husband keep up the home. Truly a woman who did it all. Even when she lost her husband, she remained the Matriarch of the family. Juanita was the ultimate Mother she even selflessly took in and raised some of her grandchildren. Juanita was a social butterfly she loved to go and visit her friends and family any chance she could. Over the years she never missed a family occasion if you invited, she was there without a doubt. As the years went on and the family grew, she was always truly the force that held our family together. The woman that taught all of us what really matters in life and that is Family. The memories we have of her are a treasure we will hold in our hearts forever. Our family will not be the same without our Queen we will truly miss her. We were blessed to have her in our lives because to know her, was to know and Angel. Now she cares for us from Heaven and we will continue the legacy of family that she built.

Juanita H. Banuelos is preceded in death by her parents Jesus Hernandez and Francisca Garcia. Husband Santiago P. Banuelos Sr, Daughter Manuela (Nellie) Torres, Son Mario Banuelos, Grandchildren Orlando Banuelos, Adrian Sherman, Marianna Vasquez and Santiago (Baby J) Banuelos IV, Sister Teresa Holguin and Son in law Sammy Jordan.

Juanita H. Banuelos is survived by her children Jose and Amanda Tavarez, Rosa and Ralph Silvas, Santiago Jr. and Elizabeth Banuelos, Romelia & John Rendon, Irma Banuelos, Cecelia Banuelos, Eloisa Jordan, Elisa and Joe Ornelas and Orlando Banuelos. Sibling Manuel and Laura Holguin. 37 Grandchildren, 93 Great Grandchildren, 13 Great Great Grandchildren with 2 on the way.

Pallbearers will be Isreal Hinojos, Rodney Silvas, Santiago Banuelos, Rene Banuelos, Sammy Jordan, Martin Vasquez, Roland Cuevas and John Ross Rendon.

The family of Juanita H. Banuelos wishes to extend our sincerest thank you to Deida Arroyo, Deborah Ramos, Christina Vasquez. We would especially like to thank Medical City Hospital of Fort Worth for their outstanding care under such difficult circumstances and for their generosity towards our family that allowed us to bring our Mother Home.
