Krystal Matta

Our beloved sister, Krystal Monique Matta, 35, passed away, February 23, 2023, in Odessa, Texas.

Krystal was born in Odessa, Texas to Ernest and Alice Matta on June 13, 1987. She attended and graduated from Pecos High School, and furthered her education by obtaining a Master's degree from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. While furthering her education, Krystal became a U.S. Pretrial Services Officer for the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas.

She was the youngest of 7 children. Her personality stood out to everyone she met. She had the ability to make you smile and laugh by not taking things too seriously.

Krystal's life changed when she had her son who was the love of her life. He was her entire world. She did everything a mother could do to make sure her son was happy. She would jokingly say, "Now that I have my son, I have become an old person. I complain about things that didn't bother me before I became a mom."

Krystal is preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Alice Matta.

Krystal is survived by her son Donovan, 2 sisters and 4 brothers.

Visitation is set Wednesday March 1, 2023, from 1PM-9PM with a rosary at 7PM at Martinez Funeral Home chapel.

Mass will be celebrated at 10AM Thursday March 2, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church 7601 N Grandview Ave Odessa, TX 79765 with Father Joseph Barbieri officiating.

Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
