Laverne was born January 8, 1932 to Richard Oldham and Zephrie White Oldham. She was the Second Child of Eleven Blessed to this Union.
Born and Reared in Burleson County, Texas, Laverne Was no stranger to Biblical Principles, As Her Family had Deep Roots in the New Hope Baptist Church, Which was A Strong Pinnacle in the Community.
Laverne Attended Smith High School where she graduated in 1950. Later she Attended Beauty School in San Antonio, Texas. Laverne Moved to Odessa, Texas in 1958. She Married Glen Williams on December 10, 1967.
She Attended Commercial College Of Odessa, Texas and Secured Employment with First National Bank of Odessa, where she worked for Many years. Upon Leaving this Position, she went to Work For Lincoln Life Insurance as a License Insurance Agent until Her Retirement. Laverne was an active member of the Mount Olive Baptist Church as well as Church Secretary until her Illness disabled her.
Laverne is preceded in Deaths By Her Parents, Richard and Zephrie Oldham, her Husband Glen Williams, Four Brothers, Ernest, Henry, Tommy and Hugh Oldham, two Sisters, Betty Oldham, and Gwendolyn Oldham- Cleaver.
Survivors For Laverne are One Aunt, Charlie Mae Nelson of Arlington, Texas, One Brother, James Oldham of Big Spring, Texas, Sisters Orna Mae Walker of Topeka, Kansas, Alma Walker of Odessa, Texas, and Carnis Johnson
