Lee Edward Sutton, 74, of Odessa, passed away on March 28, 2015 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, TX.
Visitation will be held 9am- 9pm with a wake at 7pm, Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm, Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Reverend E. J. Miller of Greater St. John Baptist officiating. Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery in Rose Hill Garden. Arrangements are under the care of Martinez Funeral Home.
Lee Sutton was born in Carthage, Texas to Reverend R.S. Sutton and First Lady Bernice Sutton on February 10, 1941. He went to school at Douglas Elementary. He married Debra Abron on June 30, 2012 in Odessa, Texas. He graduated from Blackshear. He worked as Lineman for TU Electric for 29 years. He was involved in golf and fishing. He received President's Award presented by Texas Utilities Company System for his rescue effort and attempt to save the life of Ms. Rose Sledge, this life saving act occurred on June 19, 1995.
Lee Sutton is preceded in death by his parents, Reverend R.S. Sutton and Sister Bernice Sutton, ex-wife Florence Sutton, brother Eskee (Lil Brother) Sutton, Sister Shirley Deboskie and Pasty McDowell.
Lee Sutton is survived by his wife Debra Abron Sutton, son, Jerry Turner of Odessa, Kevin Wayne Sutton of Odessa, Bishop Darrell L (Michonne) Sutton of Odessa, Edwin Verdell (Elizabeth) Mckinney, TX and sister Bobbie Jean Sutton (Terry) Longview, TX, mother in law Dovie Abron, Kermit, Tx one step-daughter Kendra (Tyron) Black; 11 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and a host of relatives, nephews, nieces and special treasured friends.
Pallbearers will be Rondale Sutton, Eskee Sutton, Larry Sutton, Christopher Jackson, Wendell Deboskie and Tommie Deboskie.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Zack Sutton, Leroy Wallace, Tommy Morris, Billbo Jackson, Velvet Beck, J.T. Butler and Alfred Lee Jr.
