Leopoldo Aguirre

November 15, 1962 — May 3, 2022

Leopoldo Torres Aguirre, 59, beloved father, brother, son and friend to many, of Odessa Texas departed this world on May 3, 2022, at his residence of work in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Leo was born in Odessa, Texas to Nolberto and Eduvijes (Torres) Aguirre on November 15, 1962. He attended and graduated from Ector High School in 1981. After graduating, Leo went straight to work at Adair Insulation. In 1991 he packed up and headed to Southern California where he worked in commercial construction as a supervisor. He would eventually relocate back to Odessa to be closer to his children and would then start his own construction and remodeling company. During his many projects he realized he had dexterity for tiling. Leo was naturally gifted at design and could make enormously complex projects seem simple. In 2005 he took a supervisor position with Insulations, Inc. in Bayonne, New Jersey. Because of his meticulous nature he got to work and immediately fit right in. He enjoyed his job so much so, that New Jersey is where he would call his work home for the last seventeen years.

Leo had a passion for all things sports. His heart was always with the Dallas Cowboys, LA Lakers and the New York Yankees. He enjoyed playing sports in high school, excelled at track, was a natural at coaching and watching thereafter. Lots of weekends were spent watching numerous games back-to-back.

Leo had a gregarious personality, which people were drawn to. He took his work seriously, but loved his time off. Whether it was spending time with friends in Mexico or family in Odessa, his joy and zest for having fun was contagious. He had a passion for music; all music, but especially tunes with a great beat. He loved dancing, on his feet or in a chair, anyplace worked for him. He loved his children and his family was always in his heart. His generous nature was something to be admired and emulate. He will be greatly mourned.

He is preceded in death by his parents Nolberto and Eduvijes (Torres) Aguirre; Tia, Rosa Torres; Sister-in-law, Teresa (Olivas) Aguirre and his niece Crysta Leigh (Aguirre) Cervantes.

Leo is survived and will be dearly missed by his children; Savannah Aguirre, Fabien (Lauren) Aguirre, granddaughter, Aubrey; brothers, Elias Aguirre, Agustin (Kaye) Aguirre, Nolberto (Melissa) Aguirre and sisters, Olivia (Isaac) and Vicky (Sandra) Aguirre.
