Locadio Cortez

Locadio R. Cortez, 80 of Odessa passed Tuesday May 19, 2015 at MCH in Odessa TX.
Visitation will be from 1 P.M to 9 P.M Saturday May 23, 2015 through May 25, 2015 at Martinez Funeral Home. Rosary will be held at 7 P.M Sunday May 24, 2015 at Martinez Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M Tuesday May 26, 2015 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Frank Chavez officiating.
Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery Rosehill section. Arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home.
Locadio was born in Terlingua TX. To Emeterio and Lasara Cortez on December 9, 1934 he attended school in Odessa. He married Benita on June 11, 1955 in Odessa. He worked in road construction for the Texas Highway Department for 36 years and retired in 1988.
Locadio is proceded in death by his daughter Gloria Cortez, Parents Emeterio and Lasara Cortez, his siblings Maria Galvan, Ricarda Soltera, Jimmy Cortez, Angie Alvarado, Paula Marquez and Danny Cortez.
Locadio is survived by his wife Benita Cortez. His son Larry Cortezand his wife Adel. Daughters Juanita Maldonado and husband Manuel, Rita Perry and husband David, Magdalena Carrasco and Elva Cortez. His siblings Mike Cortez, Johnny Cortez, Evaristo Cortez and Yolanda Hernandez as well as 19 Grandchildren and 38 Great - grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Matthew Sotelo, Augustine Maldonado, Paul Mata, Jacob Sandoval, Ivan Sandoval and Artemio Estrella Jr. the family would like to thank Dr. R.J Patel, Medical Center Hospital staff and Hospice for their help and kindness.
