Lorenzia “Loura” O’con, 72, of Odessa, Texas departed this life and went home to our Lord on Saturday, December 19, 2020 in Odessa, Texas.
Visitation will be 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating.
Loura was the oldest child born to Ignacio and Francisca O’con on August 10, 1948 in Alpine, Texas. She attended Ector High School in Odessa, Texas. She had many jobs ranging from store clerk, cook, and apartment manager, but the title she was known best for was “loving mother,” “grandmother,” and “friend.” She loved life, sneaking away to the “machinitas” for some fun, and bringing happiness to others. She was ready to brighten anyone’s day by inviting them over for a cup of coffee and juicy conversations, or one of her famous dishes, like meatloaf. Nothing brought more joy to her life than time spent with her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Maryann Salcido; son, Guadalupe Salcido; father, Ignacio O’con; mother, Francisca O’con; sisters, Nancy Cantu and Lucia Chabarria.
She is survived by her children, Camilo Salcido, Lucy (Anna) Licon, Arnold Martinez, and Hugo Martinez; 16 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great granddaughter.
Arrangements are entrusted to Martinez Funeral Home and Crematory. If you would like to send the family your condolences you may do so by signing her guestbook at www.martinezfuneral.com.
