Manuel Baeza Flores

On December 26, 2023, Manuel B. Flores a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and brother, left this earth and entered eternal rest at the age of 79 in Odessa, Texas.

Wednesday, January 3, 2024, visitation will be held from 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM, and Prayer Service will be at 7:00 PM at Martinez Funeral Home.

Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Hope Alive Church on 305 E. 19th St. Odessa, Texas, with the Elder Johnny Cruz, of Destiny House Odessa, officiating. Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery, Odessa II Section. 

Manuel B. Flores was born on August 13, 1944, in El Vado de Piedra, Chihuahua, Mexico to Anita Baeza Flores and Jesus Flores Sr. He came to the United States as a young teenager to make a better life for himself. Where he then met his soon to be wife and the love of his life, Reynalda “Reyna” Serrano Flores. Who he then married in 1968, at the age of 24. They proceeded to have a family and raised six loving children. Manuel was proud to have become a legal American citizen in 1969.

Manuel was a funny, loving, caring, and kind man who was always willing to do for others. He loved to tell jokes and stories to anyone who would lend him an ear. Those stories always pertained to his love and memories of his life that included playing pool, vacations, his childhood, and his time in Mexico. Manuel loved being able to travel and vacation with his family whenever they could get away. He loved going to Mexico in the summertime where he would spend three months at a time. While in Mexico he was able to be with family, take his family to the fairs (Ferias), and visit the horse races. Manuel could not start his day without a hot cup of coffee early in the morning. He loved his sweets, and could not get enough of his jolly ranchers and snickers. He also loved cars and trucks of all kinds, basically anything he could do to paint and work on the vehicles he would.

Manuel was preceded in death by his Wife, Reynalda “Reyna” Serrano Flores; Mother and Father, Anita Baeza Flores and Jesus Flores Sr.; and four siblings Jesus Flores Jr., Alivino Flores, Pedro B. Flores, and Otila Porras.

He is survived by his six children, Lisa Flores Sertuche, Joel Serrano Flores, Fernando Serrano Flores Sr., Veronica Flores Hernandez, Edith Flores Luna and Kristy Flores Cortez, and twenty-three grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, and three siblings Arturo Flores, Manuela Alvarado, and Dora Orona.

Pallbearers will be Joel Jeremy Flores, Zachary Zepeda, Isaac Ivan Hernandez, Brandon Sertuche, Fernando Flores Jr., Xavier Malachi Tavarez, and Caden Jeremiah Tavarez.
