Manuel Lujan

Manuel B. Lujan, 88, of Odessa, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 in Odessa.

Visitation will be held from 1:00-9:00pm Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Martinez Funeral Home. A rosary will be held at 7:00pm Friday, September 9, 2016 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Jal, New Mexico.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Saturday, September 10, 2016 a St. Cecilia Catholic Church with Father Luis Rene Lopez officiating. Burial will follow at Jal City Cemetery.

Manuel was born in Coyame, Chihuahua, Mexico to Juan Lujan and Melquiades Barrera on May 30, 1928. He married the love of his life, Elvira Miranda on May 3, 1947 in Mexico. They shared 69 years of marriage full of love and joy. He was a very hard-working man who specialized in ranching and construction. He participated in the Pecos Rodeo and did roping there.

Manuel is preceded in death by his parents Melquiades Barrera Lujan and Juan Lujan, son Juan Lujan, his brother Angel Lujan and sister Refugio Reynosa.

Manuel is survived by his loving wife, Elvira Miranda Lujan, his children Guadalupe Lujan, Raul Lujan, Manuel Lujan Jr., Jorge Lujan, Sr., Ysmael Lujan, Sofia Payen, Blanca Salomon, Lucema Ortega and his siblings Otilia Romero of Jal, New Mexico, Maria Luisa Valeriano of Jal, New Mexico, Estella Valeriano of Chihuahua, Mexico, Nena-Elisa Jimenez of Hobbs, New Mexico, Domingo Lujan of Coyame, Mexico, Eliseo Lujan of Presidio, Texas, and Dulces Lujan of Jal, New Mexico. He is also survived by his grandchildren Juan Humberto Lujan, Gilberto Lujan, Elizabeth Lujan, Juan de Diego Lujan, Magdalena Clarissa Ramirez, Natalia Lujan, Fabiana Lujan, Elvira Martinez, Josue Lujan, Nadia Hinojos, Jennifer Marie Lujan, John Carlos Lujan, Augustine Silvano Lujan, Jorge Carlos Lujan Jr., Jorge Luis Lujan, Kassandra Marie Payen, Franchesca Nicole Cienfuegos, Raymundo Payen Jr., Gabriella Miranda Salmon, Ysenia Ysabel Salmon, Zulema Ortega, Vanessa Ontiveros, Fabian Ortega, 28 Great-Grandchildren, 33 nieces and 30 nephews.

Pallbearers will be Ysmael Lujan, Raul Lujan, Guadalupe Lujan, Manuel Lujan Jr., Jorge Lujan, and Juan Humberto Lujan.

Arrangements are entrusted to Martinez Funeral Home and Crematory.
