Manuel ‘Nelo' Marquez was born in Vado de Piedras, Ojinaga to é�rsulo and Emiliana Marquez on February 6, 1943. He was raised in Presidio Tx, educating himself through life experiences. He married Irene Serrano and lived a long and happy life together for 56 years. Manuel made a career in the oil field industry after moving to Odessa, Texas. One of his joys was working with and riding horses while working to build his legacy and family home at the Ranch.
Manuel is preceded in death by his parents; Ursulo and Emiliana Marquez, three siblings; Eufemia Alvarado, Alvaro Marquez, and Maria Aguirre.
Manuel is survived by his loving wife, Irene Márquez and their four children; Gloria and Richard Arreola, Manuel ‘Manny' and Melinda Márquez, Martha ‘Martie' and Buzzy Abalos, and Christina and Michael Barela. His brothers and sisters; Simon Márquez, Abel Márquez, Adolfo Márquez, Natividad Galindo, Irene Cruz, Ofelia Carrasco, and Graciela Sifuentes. His grand children; Clarissa Arreola, Richelle Arreola, Ryan Arreola, Sarah Jones, Crystal and Jose Márquez, Manuel and Christina Márquez, Mikey and Arely Márquez, Haley Pease and Aaron Padilla, Jordyn and Nathaniel Navarette, Buzzy Daniel Abalos, Oliver ‘Sonny' Willis Pease III and CheyAnn Kolwalski, Jessica Ríos, Michael Barela Jr., and Jenice Barela. He is also survived by 26 great grandchildren.

The Family of Manuel Márquez Sr. wishes to extend a grateful and sincere Thank You to the staff at ORMC Critical Care Unit, Dr. Dar, Dr. Reddy, Dr. Lee, and Dr. Kody for the amazing care and empathy shown to our father, mother and family and to Mary Paz for stepping in and taking care of our mom AND us all in our time of need.
