Manuela Torres

Manuela Nellie Banuelos Torres, 61, went to rest on May 31, 2014 peacefully at her home. She was born July 15, 1952 in Presidio, Texas. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. A service will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home chapel with Brother Whitlow officiating. Interment will follow to Ector County Cemetery.

She was a loving, kind, compassionate mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. She graduated from Aladin Beauty School in Odessa, Texas and made a career as a manicurist. She moved to Dallas, Texas in the 80s where she continued her career. There she found her faith and devoted her life as one of Jehovahs witnesses. In 1989 she moved back to Odessa, Texas to be with family. Her hobbies included gardening, interior decorating, and loved to draw. But, most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends.
Her number one priority was teaching others about Gods kingdom and about the beautiful paradise that awaits us.
She is preceded in death by her father, Santiago P. Banuelos, son, Adrian Scherman.

Survivors include son, Israel Jose Hignojos, daughters, Cynthia Marie Orona and Christina Anna Vasquez, mother, Juanita H. Banuelos, brothers, Santiago Banuelos Jr., Mario Banuelos and Orlando Banuelos, sisters, Rosa Silvas, Romelia Rendon, Irma Banuelos, Cecilia Banuelos, Eloisa Jordan and Elisa Ornelas, 12 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of Martinez Funeral Home and Crematory of Odessa.
