Marcella Madrid

The incomparable Marcela Madrid, age 93, passed away on May 20, 2018, in Odessa, Texas.
Celebration of life services will occur on May 22, 2018, 7:00 p.m., at Martinez Funeral Home in Odessa, Texas, with burial on May 23, 2018, 11:00 a.m., at
Morton Memorial Cemetery in Morton, Texas.
"The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all" was the scripture reference inscribed decades ago by Marcela Madrid on parched paper.
This timeless memory lives on in her everlasting and indestructible bible, the primary possession that shadowed Marcela throughout the stages of her life, including her last breath.
Marcela lived a legacy-filled and purposeful life. Indeed, she was the Madrid matriarch, and she carried herself with distinguished dignity, courage and confidence.
She was a pillar; full of love, especially for her family. Rather than waste a breath on a complaint, she focused on the "what's possible" and exuded an iron will.
Marcela enjoyed a powerful voice and laugh that filled every room of her home, which was filled with home interior decor and the aroma of freshly baked cakes, homemade tortillas or her legendary chili colorado flat enchiladas with a fried egg on top.
Marcela Madrid was a faith warrior. She was unbroken by hardship, and she lived intensely. She was full of life, strong opinions and priceless consejos.
In her mind, setbacks were temporary, and she relied not on her own understanding, but that of her Lord and Savior. She endured many troubles, but she ended
her experience on Earth as she entered it: righteous. The family of Marcela Madrid celebrates the remarkable life of Marcela Madrid, a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Marcella is preceded in death by husband; Marcos Madrid Sr., parents; Porfirio Sr. and Julia Granado, son; Jimmy Madrid Sr., two infant daughters, grandchildren; Leroy Madrid, Jimmy De Leon Madrid, niece; Sylvia Martinez.
Marcella is survived by sons; Ysmael (Pola) Madrid, Marcos Jr. (Maria) Madrid, Frank (Josie) Madrid, sisters; Elvira Granado, Fey Martinez, Noy Granado, Ida Carrasco and brothers; Domingo Granado and Lorenzo Granado, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great granchildren.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Milligan, Rick Montanez, Mark Madrid, Steve Bolin, Victor Granado and Frankie Madrid.

The family of Mrs. Marcella Madrid wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Wong and all those at Madison Medical Resort for taking great care of her.
