Maria Herrera

Our beloved Mom Maria Jesus Herrera was born in Runge, TX on 9-1-44. She was born to Rufino and Josefina Losoya. Mom first met her loving husband Heginio Herrera in 1970 in Midland, TX and raised many children. Mom was a loving wife, mom, grandmother, and great - grandmother. Mom loved her family dearly and everyone knew that you could count on mom. Mom was a faithful servant of the Lord always giving thanks and praying no matter the situation. Mom raised many kids from her own to her grandchildren, to her nieces and nephews; no matter who they were she would take them in with open arms. Mom loved having picnics in the park and always had ham, bologene, and cheese from Mr.S. There was nothing Mom could not cook from arroz and beans, to pork chops, tamales you name it she made it. Whatever time of day if you were hungry she would make you meal. Mom was known for being straight forward no holding back type of woman. At times it would hurt with what she had to say but it was out of love and care and always made sure she said she loved you. When you laughed she laughed, when you smiled she smiled, when you cried she cried and held you said "pray I love you." Mom always had a verse that she loved to hear "Porque de tal manera amo Dios al mundo, que ha dado a su Higo unigento, para que todo aquel que en el cree, no se pierda mas tenga la vida eternal" Juan 3:16.

Mom is preceded in death by her parents Rufino and Josefina Losoya, son Alfredo Vela, sisters Manuela Pecina, Felipa Losoya, brothers Juan Losoya, Alfredo Losoya, Rufino Losoya JR.

Mom is survived by her husband Heginio Herrera, sons Valentin Vela, Calistro Vela, Manuel Vela Sr., John Vela, Samuel Vela, and George Losoya. Sisters: Nieves Esparza, Casi Colunga, Martina Rivera, Lupe Jurado, and Amalia Losoya. Grandchildren: Dora Vela, Cindy Vela, Calvin Vela, Vickianna Vela, Manuel Vela JR., John Albert Vela, Manuel Thomas Vela, Veronica Vela, Henry Vela, Mark Vela, Christian Vela, Vanessa Vela, Jesus Vela, Daniel Vela, Gaby Vela, Ivan Montes, Elena Losoya, Liliana Losoya. Great-grandchildren: Jeremiah Herrera, Esmeralda Herrera, Nathan Herrera, Juan Herrera, Nyali Melendez, Nahlia Melendez, Mariah Lopez, Thaddeus Vela, Thalia Vela, Manuel Vela III, Isayi Vela, Ariel Vela, Rigoberto Cuevas, Alize Cuevas, Melody Mancha, Emri Hernadez, John Sabian Vela, Amiah Vela, Adrian Vela.

Pallbearers will be Calvin Vela, Manuel Vela Jr., John Albert Vela, Henry Vela, Mark Vela, Jeremiah Herrera, Nathan Herrera, Ivan Montes.
