Maria Linda Herrera, 76, of Odessa, passed away on Friday September 13, 2024, at her home in Odessa, Texas after a long-suffered illness.
Maria Linda was born in Fort Stockton, Texas to Francisco “Pancho” and Isidora “Fina” Gonzales on February 17, 1948. On July 4, 1964, Maria Linda married Hipolito “Paul” Herrera in Odessa, Texas at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. A note in her family bible states that “…this was the happiest day of my life.” followed by the day her son Anthony was born, then the day of her 25th Wedding Anniversary.
Maria Linda is preceded in death by her husband Paul Herrera, her parents Pancho and Fina Gonzales, sister Velia Gonzales and brother Raymundo Gonzales.
Maria Linda is survived by her much-loved son William Anthony Herrera, granddaughter April Marie Herrera and great grand-daughters Akari Kyla Arnett and Trinity Clara Posada.
Visitation for immediate family will be Wednesday, September 18, 2024, 11:00am – 1:00pm. Visitation for extended family and the public will be the same day beginning at 1:00pm with a Rosary beginning at 7:00pm at the Martinez Funeral Home, 1040 South Dixie Blvd, Odessa, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00am, Thursday, September 19, 2024, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church1321 W Monahans St Odessa, TX 79763 with Fr. Chavez of St. Joseph/St. Anthony’s Catholic Churches.
Burial will follow at the Ector County Cemetery, Rosehill section, 300 South Dixie Blvd.
The Herrera and Gonzales families would like to give sincere thanks to Lubbock UMC Neurosurgery, Dr. Genevieve Lapoint and her staff for the kindness and service given to Maria Linda.
