Maria Saenz Arredonda

Maria Saenz Arredondo of Odessa, TX was born January 1st 1926. God called her home on January 16th 2023 at the age of 97.

There will be a rosary service at Martinez Funeral Home, 1040 S Dixie Blvd, Odessa, TX on Sunday January 22nd at 7 PM.

In accordance with her wishes there will be no viewing and she will be cremated. At a later date she will be laid to rest with her father Felix Saenz and her mother Clara Saenz, in Bastrop, TX.

Our mother was a butcher at Everybody's which was a grocery store here in Odessa for many years. Her second job was raising six children. If you were to ask any of her children to describe their mom these are some of the responses you would get; strong, resilient, sharp, tough, independent and protective especially of her family, never one to wait for someone to do a task for her. At 97 she was a big part of our lives and we will miss her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert N Arredondo, her beautiful daughter Virginia S. Arredondo and great grandson Kyle Pina.

Maria is survived by her children; Gilbert S. Arredondo, Jr, and spouse Bridget, Lupe Freeman and spouse Ron, Clara Mechau, Felix Arredondo and spouse Wanda, Hyman Arredondo and spouse Angel.

Grandchildren; Christopher, Kristen, Eric, Jon Marco, Michelle Koch, Dale, Sonya, Michelle Bays Kinamon, Danai, Felix Von, Roman, Tenessa, Domini, Alex, Miguel, Victor, Estrellita.

Great-grandchildren; Brianah, Alyssa, Nicholas, Michael, Julius, Ivan, Quincy, Josey, Dalton, Marissa, Lauren, Jaylin, Roman Jr., Jonathan, David, Devon, Neeko, Dontae, Deacon, Jessamiah, Miley, Jayce, John Paul, Ellianna. Molly, Ella, Lauren, Ashley, Nolan, Jordan.
