It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mark Valerio, who left us on November 26, 2024 at the age of 37 in Lubbock, Texas.
Mark was born in Odessa, Texas to Roy and Lupe Valerio on June 11,1987. He went to school at Odessa High School and graduated in 2005. He studied cosmetology at Virginia College. He worked various fast food jobs and as a dog groomer as well.
Mark was a cherished father, son, brother, uncle, grandson and friend, and though his life was cut tragically short, he will always be remembered for his kindness, humor, and the love he shared with those close to him.
Mark had a unique spirit, full of love and compassion. His favorite pastimes were spending time with his spouse and daughter, collecting and making Nightmare before Christmas memorabilia, playing video games with family, making wood plaques and crosses, playing with his beloved pets, Ghost and Casper, practicing his cosmetology talents and just sitting and having funny or heartfelt conversations with loved ones. Mark was known for his ability to make others feel seen and valued. He had a natural gift for making people laugh and his presence brightened many lives.
Sadly, like many, Mark faced inner struggles that were not always visible to those around him. The weight of mental health challenges is something we may never fully understand, and we will always wish that Mark had found the peace he so desperately sought. However, we also want to celebrate the selflessness that Mark demonstrated even in his final moments. Through the decision to donate his organs, Mark gave a part of his self to save the lives of others, embodying the generosity and care he carried in his heart. His legacy of giving will continue through the lives he touched through this remarkable act of kindness.
While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the memories and moments he left behind, and the impact he had on our lives.
