Mary G. Gonzalez of Odessa, Tx, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023, in Waxahachie, Tx.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 9, 2023, from 1-9pm.

Rosary will be held Thursday, February 9, 2023, at 7 p.m. at Martinez Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 10, 2023, at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Odessa with Father Frank Chavez officiating.  Burial will follow from 2-3 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Fort Stockton, Tx. Arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home.

Mary G. Gonzalez was born in Fort Stockton, Tx to Cipriano and Marina Gonzales on June 20, 1934.  She attended Butz Elementary and Fort Stockton High School in Fort Stockton, Tx.  She married Alfred Gonzalez in Odessa, Tx.  She worked for the Food Service Department for ECISD for 15 years.  She received various food service certifications from Odessa College.  She taught CCD classes for St. Anthony’s.  She was a PTA mom as well as a Boy Scout mom.  She was a member of the Southside Senior center where she spent many days with many of her dear friends playing bingo, exercising, crafting, and going on the center’s trips.  She loved watching her Lifetime movies. She loved traveling and got to visit many states throughout the years.  She loved visiting and spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.  She enjoyed going to flea markets and garage sales with her late husband.  She enjoyed camping and her love of the ocean and our annual summer trips to San Antonio, Tx.

She is preceded in death by her husband Alfred Gonzalez: her parents Cipriano and Marina Gonzales: sisters Poncha and Natividad Gonzales, Lucilla Hernandez, Alvina Urias and Simona Martinez: brothers Alfonso and Manuel Gonzales, Eulogio Gonzales, and Francisco Gonzales.

Mary G. Gonzalez is survived by a son Richard James Gonzales and wife Linda of Waxahachie, Tx, daughter Lizza Gonzalez Campos and husband Danny of Odessa: three grandchildren, Christopher Eulojio Gonzales and wife Jennifer of Waxahachie, Tx, Ashley Nicole Gonzales of Colorado and Samantha Meadow Guadarrama of Odessa: three great-grandchildren Grant, Hudson and Genevieve of Waxahachie, Tx.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Gonzales, Grant Gonzales, Sipriano Gonzales, Steven Armesto, Jose Ruiz, Matthew Martinez and Oscar Melendez.

The family of Mary G. Gonzalez wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Ramanathan, Dr. Farber, Dr. Kadir, St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Martinez Funeral Home, Father Frank Chavez, Martha, Alvessa, Hospice and all the doctors and nurses at Baylor Scott and White of Waxahachie Tx.  Also to all our family and friends who took part in the care and help of our Mom. For that we are eternally grateful.
