Myrl Henderson Hucker, age 96, passed away from this life on February 20, 2017 at Courtyards at Parks Methodist in Odessa, TX.
She was born on a farm near Lampasas, Texas on May 27, 1920. She graduated from Crane High School in 1938 as Val Victorian. She graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in History and Home Economics in 1942. Myrl was one of the smartest person on earth and spoke various languages. She married Charles Hucker in 1943 and while he served in the Pacific during WW II, she taught school in Grand Falls and Crane, Texas. While she taught school, Charlie was able to obtain his Professor degree in Chinese History. They lived for 25 years in Ann Arbor, MI where Charlie taught at the University of Michigan and Myrl became a Real Estate Agent and taught and played a lot of Duplicate Bridge. They moved to Tucson, AZ upon retirement and lived there where Charlie passed away in 1994. In 2003 she moved to Midland and then later to Courtyards at Parks Methodist in Odessa.
Myrl was preceded in death by her husband Charles O. Hucker, her parents Leonard and Sadie Henderson of Crane, TX, brother Curtis Henderson and wife Irene of Crane, TX, sister Cleo and husband Bob Adair of Summerville, TX, sister Jo and husband George Price of Odessa, TX, brother Billy J. Henderson and wife Jean of Odessa, TX.
She is survived by her sister Betty and husband Felix Fernandez of Odessa, TX and numerous nephews and nieces.
Memorial Services will be scheduled at later date.
