Nicolasa Aguilar Perez, age 90, of Odessa, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 9, 2017, in Lubbock, Texas.
Visitation will be held at Martinez Funeral Home on Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 11am- 9pm and Sunday, March 12, from 12pm- 7pm. The Rosary will be Sunday at 7pm.
Mass will be officiated by Father Frank Chavez on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 10am at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery in Rosehill Garden. Arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home and Crematory.
Nickie was born in Slaton, Texas to Teodoro and Guadalupe Aguilar on September 10, 1926. She married Juan R. Perez in Clovis, New Mexico. She worked as a manager at Lee Optical for most of her career.
Nickie generously devoted her life to nourishing the lives of others around her. It was rare for her to have an empty room in her house, as she was always willing to take in any family member in need. As a dedicated foster mother for twenty years, Nickie committed to providing not only a roof, but also love and support to children of all ages. She was also a loving grandmother who always loved and cared for her grandchildren while their parents were working. She will undoubtedly be remembered by her unrelenting strength and head-strong independence.
Nickie was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sisters, Elizabeth Alvarado and Eloisa Alvarado and her Grandson, Jose Urias Jr.
Those left to cherish her love and memories are: her four sons- Johnny Perez Jr., Rudy Perez and wife, Belinda, Ruben Perez and wife, Annie, all of Odessa, and Robert Perez and wife, Leticia of Ft. Worth, her two daughters- Alicia Perez Urias, Irene Nunez and husband Barney both of Odessa, her sisters- Angela Todd, Barbara Cisneros, and Dora Sanchez all of Slaton, brothers- Gilbert Flores of Lubbock and Raymond Flores of San Antonio, 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Rudy Perez, Robert Perez, Ruben Perez, Barney Nunez, Robert Perez Jr., Ruben Perez Jr., Emilio Perez, Andy Perez, and Nicholas Arenivas.
