Oscar G. Dominguez, 63, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on November 25th at his home. Just as he dealt with all experiences in life, Oscar managed his illness with strength and grace, and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible. On his final day, he was surrounded by his children and family, whom he loved more than anything.
Oscar was born in Lubbock, Texas to Maria and Henry Dominguez, Sr. on November 11, 1957. His family eventually moved to Odessa, Texas where he and his 7 siblings planted their roots. Oscar went on to become an Operations Engineer at Texaco for 20 years before he retired due to an injury. He was a longtime, proud member of the Odessa Grandview Lions Club and more recently served with the Odessa Downtown Lions Club. He loved being a Lion and the lifelong friends he made along the way. Golf was his favorite pastime. Nothing calmed him more than a clear sky and a good round of golf. Above all, his greatest accomplishment was being the best Popo there ever was. His grandchildren completed him and there was nothing they did that didn’t bring him great joy and pride. To remember him is to remember his loyalty and love for his family along with his smile and one of a kind laugh and dance moves.
Oscar is preceded in death by his parents, Maria & Henry Dominguez, Sr., and his brother, Ruben Dominguez.
Oscar was loved tremendously and will be missed by so many, his family most of all. He is survived by Mary F. Dominguez and their children, Natalie and husband Adrian Acosta, Andrea and husband Joe Fabian, Oscar Jr. and wife Raven, Liana and husband Drelane Johnson; his grandchildren, Liliana, JJ, Jessie, Diego, Addilynn, Ariyah, Adriel, Ana Sofia and Joaquin; his partner, Bobbi Healer and stepsons, Matthew, Joshua and Chris Nabarrette; his six step-grandchildren, MJ, Mia, Joshua, Joziah, Audryella and Ziyah; his siblings, Aurora Granado, Henry, Jr., Sulema Lujan, Adolfo, Eugene and Gloria Mancha; and countless nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Mancha, Manuel Mancha, Bryan Dominguez, Rick Dominguez, Gene Dominguez, Jr., Adrian Acosta, Drelane Johnson and Joe Fabian, Sr.
The family wishes to convey their deep gratitude for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this extremely difficult time. Also, sincere thanks to his local oncologist, Dr. Chae and his nurse, Brenda; as well as his nurses and physical therapists with Interim HealthCare; and the Downtown Lions Club.
