ODESSA – It is with a heavy heart that the family announces the passing of Pabla “Paula” C. Fabela, 66 of Odessa, TX. Paula passed away peacefully at her home Saturday, September 9, 2023. She was born on October 19, 1956 in Odessa, TX to Angel & Esperanza Castillo. She was the 6 child of 9.
Paula met the love of her like in 1978, which later married and helped her raise her 2 boys, Adam & Adrian Hill. Together they had 2 more children, Juan Jr and Angelica.
Paula had a heart of gold. She was beautiful inside and out. She loved to help anybody any way she could. She loved to travel and go to casinos. Paula and her husband were self-employed for 22 years in Midkiff, TX. Paula truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, chatting with friend and family, snacking, and spending time with her family while drinking her Chelada. She had the ability to reach people in a deep and positive way.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Teresa Castillo, brother Jose Angel “Pepe”, brother Miguel “Mike”, and brother Ector.
Paula is survived by her husband of 44 years, Juan Fabela Sr. of Chihuahua, Mexico, sons Adam Hill and wife Norma, Adrian Hill, Juan Fabela Jr. and wife Rosa and daughter Angelica and husband Artemio Tarango all of Odessa. 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren that she loved very much. Sisters Elisa Romero and husband Ramon, Maria Irene Romero and husband Benjamin, brothers Jesse & Robert Castillo.
The family would like extend their gratitude to those who took their time in caring for her, Araceli Romero & staff at Dr Salcido’s office, all MCH staff, Martin County Hospital District and all the staff at Complete Care Dialysis. A special thanks to her daughter in law, Norma Hill, thank you for using your healing hands to care for our mom and guiding us through our journey.
Pallbearers: Isael F. Tarango, Juan Fabela III, Brian Fabela, Valentin Favela Jr, Jael Cervantes, Joel Ivan Fabela, Jesse Fabela and Alexis Fabela.
Her children would also like to take a minute to thank their father:
Dad, thank you for always being by her side in the good, bad, highs and lows. You took care of Mom without any hesitation; we know there were many bad days but even then you never gave up. You were there for her till the very end and for that we are forever grateful. We love you, Dad!
Visitation will be held at Martinez Funeral Home from 4:00PM - 9:00PM Wednesday September 13, 2023 and from 10:00AM - 9:00PM Thursday September 14, 2023 with a Rosary at 7:00PM.
Mass will be at 10:00AM at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church Friday September 15, 2023 with Burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
