Visitation will be held on Thursday May 20, 2021 from 4:00pm – 9:00pm & Friday May 21, 2021 from 9:00am -9:00pm at Martinez Funeral Home
A Wake will be held on Friday May 21, 2021 at 7:00 pm at Martinez Funeral Home
Mother’s Homegoing service will be held on Saturday May 22, 2021 at Living Vision Ministries on 525 S. Grandview at 11:00am
Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens – Monument Section.
Mother Pauline Freeman Brooks was born on November 8. 1944 in Wortham, Texas to Mr. A.T. and Mrs. Johnnie Mae Chambers Freeman. She was the 3rd child of 13 children and was lovingly called “Sister” by her sisters and brothers. She married Mr. Jimmy Lee Brooks Sr. on August 4, 1963. She had four children whom she loved and adored and was so very proud of. Two sons, Jimmy Lee Brooks Jr. (Michelle) and Tommy Lee Brooks (Hannah) and two daughters, Dawn Aldray Everett Johnson (Tommy II) and Donna Liza Deanna Everett.
She served faithfully in several capacities at Walker’s Chapel Church of God In Christ now Living Vision Ministries under the leadership of Elder James D. Porter and Co-Pastor Carolyn J. Porter.
Mother Brooks graduated from Odessa College becoming a Licensed Vocational Nurse in 1966 and a Registered Nurse in 1979. She worked at Medical Center Hospital for over 35 years. In June 2002, she retired from Medical Center Hospital remaining PRN or as needed staff until completely retiring in November 2009.
She was “Nanas” and “Nan” to Warren Stewart Brooks, Isreal Freeman Brooks, Syeanne Marie Brooks, Elissa Pauline Brooks, Amaya LeiAldray Johnson, Tommy Lee Johnson, III, Adelyn Leigh Anaya Johnson, Tydan Lee Johnson, Nevaeh D’Nae Ruth Cooper, Nayonah D’Liza Pauline Cooper, Natayah Lanae Prince, bonus grandson Brylee Jessie Perez, and the newest addition Jayla Paige Brooks.
Mother Brooks had 3 great grandchildren whom she adored and would often bring to church with her. Avyen Florencio Dominguez, Malaylah Lee Thompson, and Jeremiah Eli Dominguez.
Mama’s declaration: “I love the Lord!”
Mama’s life goal: To please God and make Heaven my home. Amen.

Brothers: Mr. Billy Frank Freeman, Mr. Willie Jay Freeman (Sharon), Mr. Bobby Joe Freeman, and Rev. Joe Freeman (Joyce)
Sisters-in-law: Ms. Jeralyn Pashawn Brooks, Mrs. Hollis Brooks, and Mrs. Elizabeth Lynn Williams (Harry) Brothers-in-law: Min. Donald Ray Everett, and Mr. Paul Glynn Everett, Special niece: Ms. Carolyn Annette Jefferson.
