Pedro Olivas

April 29, 1928 — July 28, 2023

Pedro S. Olivas ,95 of Odessa, passed away Friday July 28, 2023. Pedro was born in Coyame, Chihuahua to Guadalupe Olivas and Tomasa Sanchez on April 29,1928.

He went to school in Coyame, Chihuahua. He married Otilia R. Olivas (RIP) on December 27,1956 in Coyame, Chihuahua. He worked in construction in California, Manitoba, Canada, and Texas for 40 years +.

He loved to harvest his own fruits and vegetables, spending most of his days outside gardening. When he wasn’t outdoors, he loved trying his luck with scratch-off lottery tickets hoping he’d hit big one day. He enjoyed being with his kids and grandchildren during family gatherings, always laughing and remembering his times in Coyame and the ranch he spent most of his youth at. We all enjoyed listening to all his stories and will always remember the smile he had while telling us about them.

Pedro is preceded in death by his wife Otilia R Olivas, his son Pilar Olivas, his parents Guadalupe, and Tomasa Olivas and 8 of his siblings.

Pedro is survived by his children Raul, Edmundo, Mabi, Mario and Gerardo, and sisters Manuela Carrillo and Rita Ramirez.

Pedro also leaves to cherish his memory 7-grandchildren, 3-great grandchildren and lots of nieces, and nephews.

Visitation is set for Tuesday August 1, 2023, from 1PM-9PM at Martinez Funeral Home chapel with a rosary at 7PM.
