Pilar Juarez Lares, 92, of Odessa, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2014 in Odessa, TX.
Pilar was born in Cuchillo Parado, Mexico to Geronimo and Natividad Juarez. She married Candelario Lares in 1940 in Cuchillo Parado.
Pilar is preceded in death by her husband Candelario Lares, three sisters Romana Navarrette, Santos Ortiz and Nicolasa Olivas and one brother Victorio Juarez.
Pilar is survived by one son Guadalupe Lares and four daughters, Hortencia Padilla, Sulema Corrales, Amparo Jimenez and Herminia Muela sisters, Martina Lopez of Pecos, Aurora Juarez of Odessa and Graciolo Juarez of California. Pilar also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 31 greatgrandchildren and 10 greatgreatgrandchildren.
Pilar received the Revolutionary Toribio Ortega Merit medal for being the oldest descendant of one of the 65 men who along with General Toribio Ortega took up arms and initiated the Mexican Revolution. Pilar will be especially remembered for her great strength, extraordinary intelligence and her endless love for her family ranging from her eldest son to her infant greatgreatgrandchild.
Pall bearers will be grandsons and greatgrandsons: Jaime Padilla, Manuel Corral, Eduardo Corrales, Sergio Corrales, Jose Luis Jimenez, Erik Gabaldon, Chase Jimenez and Ethan Jimenez.
