Polito Solis Vasquez of Odessa, Texas
passed away on Tuesday May 24, 2016 in Odessa at the age of 83.
He was born in Nixon, Texas on August 20, 1932 to Apolonio and Delfina Vasquez.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Petra Escobar Vasquez, his son
Robert, two daughters Maria Guadalupe and Dora Vasquez., his parents, his brothers
Pablo, Jimmy, Guadalupe and Richard Vasquez.
He is survived by his daughters Gloria (Tito) Contreras, Rosie (Ricky) Armendarez of
Odessa, brothers Estevan Vasquez of San Angelo, Texas, sister Amelia Vasquez of Visalia, California,
10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
It took all his strength, love and devotion from God to care for his wife.
He loved her and missed her every day. He worked for Gandy's in
San Angelo, Texas and also for a gas station. He then moved to Odessa and worked for
General Tire & Rubber Co for 33 years until his retirement. He loved to barbeque for his
family every weekend, his tripitas were the best. He was very honest, outspoken and very hard worker.
He had a saying, "if you're tired of working, then you must be tired of eating."
You can rest now Dad; God has called you home.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1pm Friday, May 27, 2016 at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery in Rosehill Garden.
Arrangements are under the care of Martinez Funeral Home.
