Ramon Blanco

Ramon R Blanco, 82, went to be with the Lord on August 3, 2016, in Odessa, TX at Medical Center Hospital. He was born April 17, 1934, in Fort Stockton, TX to Pablo Blanco and Belen Rios Blanco.
He was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church until he became ill. Ramon was passionate, loving, and a caring man. He was the owner of Elks Barber Shop for 46 years. He was a devoted, hardworking man, and loved to cut hair. On his spare time, he loved to play with his puppies and watch tv. He had a great heart and will be truly missed.
Ramon is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Loretta, and grandson Chase Martinez.
He is survived by his daughters Melissa Rivera (Robert) of Odessa, Edna Vega of Fort Stockton, and Noreen Arcides of Lafayette, LA; sons Raymond "Boy" Blanco of Odessa, Tony Martinez (Laura) of Vienna, WV, and David Blanco (Dalila) of Odessa; sisters Empidia B Gomez (Ben) of Odessa, Cathy Gonzalez (Efran) of Seminole, Adelida "Eddie" Mendoza (Richard) of Midland, and Eliria Blanco of Odessa; brothers Pablo R Blanco (late Celia) of Mesquite and William R Blanco (Eleda) of San Angelo. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday August 4 at Martinez Funeral Home, 1040 S Dixie, Odessa, TX 79761. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday August 5 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Joseph Uecker presiding, 612 E. 18th. Interment will follow at Ector County Cemetery Peaceful Gardens. Pall bearers are: Michael Fernandez, Joe Calderon, Joe Ramirez, Michael Garza, Ricardo Rivera, Edgar Chavez, and Alex Brandt.
