Visitation will be held from 1 - 5pm December 13, 2024 Rosary will be held from 2 - 3pm December 13, 2024 Funeral services will be held from 10am December 20, 2024 Arrangements are entrusted to Martinez Funeral Home at 1040 S. Dixie Blvd in Odessa Tx. Service will be Officiated by Father Chavez of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.

Rene was born in Brownfield, Tx to Natividad Jesus and Elisa Arguello Marquez on Oct. 8th, 1965 as a child he attended school at St. Mary's catholic church in Odessa Tx. Later in life he moved his family to Stanton Tx where he worked as a Drywall Journeyman throughout his years in different cities with San Antonio being his favorite place. Our father fought his battle against cancer and beat it in 2016 to have to fight the same battle in 2024. 

He Beat this one as well, gaining his wings to heaven. Despite spending much of his time in and out of the hospital, dialysis, procedures, and appointments he never complained, lost his sense of humor, or faith in God. Surrounded by his familia in his final moments, he was a man of immense humor and wisdom, with a great big heart, cherishing every moment spent with his loved ones, after so many years. I will not fail to mention his heart will always remain in the South, his Barrio is where his spirit will always be, Born raised and layed to rest. 

Through the good, bad and the ugly he was always loved by the people who knew him the most and truly loved him for who he was. 

Rene is preceded in death by his parents Elisa Arguello Marquez and Natividad (Chuy) Marquez. 

He is survived by his 3 children Chrystal Renee Marquez, April Andrea Marquez, Marcos Antonio Marquez, Sister Annabell M. Mendoza, Grandchildren Eric Rene Hernandez, Mercedes Nicole Hernandez, Nikki Aleese Hernandez, and Elisa Micheal Ramos.
