Ruby Jewel (Johnson) Williams, 86, of Odessa, Texas passed away on December 25, 2016 in Odessa, Texas.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with family to receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8 pm on December 29, 2016 at Martinez Funeral Home & Crematory. under the direction of Funeral Directors Joel Gonzales & Nancy Olvera. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday December 30, 2016, at Martinez Funeral Home & Crematory, officiated by Rev. David Tunson. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery.
Ruby Jewel (Johnson) Williams was born in Overton, Texas to John H. Johnson and Josephine (Jenkins) Johnson on March 30, 1930. She attended Elementary & High school in Tyler, Texas. She married Willie E. Williams Sr. on November 26, 1952, in Tyler, Texas, and to this union five children were born: Willie Jr, Randall, Gwendolyn, Gary, and Gregory. Willie, Ruby and the kids moved from Tyler, Texas to Odessa, Texas in 1967. Ruby was a homemaker. She was a Baptist and had attended House of Prayer Baptist Church.
Ruby is preceded in death by her husband (Willie), her parents (John & Josephine), (2) brothers Woodrow Johnson & John A. Johnson, (3) sisters, (2) sons Willie Jr. and Gary Sr., and (1) great-granddaughter Shymia Fillmore, and nieces and nephews.
Ruby is survived by Randall & wife Cecilia Williams; Gwendolyn & husband Hiram Jones; and Gregory & wife Karen Williams; (17) Grandchildren and (24) Great-Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers for the service will be J.R. Torres, Louis Gonzales, James King, Edward Williams, Don Bishop, and Eugene Williams.
