Rudy “Kat” Villalobos Urias, Sr., 57 of Odessa, Texas passed away Tuesday February 4, 2020 at Medical Center Hospital.
Visitations will be held Saturday February 8,2020 from 9am to 9pm and Sunday February 9, 2020 from 1pm to 9pm with a rosary being recited at 7pm at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel.
Mass will be celebrated at 1pm Monday February 10, 2020 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Fr. Fernando Bonilla officiating.
Interment will follow at Ector County Cemetery the Odessa II Section. Services are entrusted to Martinez Funeral Home
Rudy “Kat” Villalobos Urias, Sr., 57 was born in Odessa, Texas to Manuel and Manuela Villalobos Urias on October 13, 1962. He went to school in Odessa. He graduated from Ector High School Class of 1981. He worked as a mechanic at Brakes and Wheels. He was very competitive in sports. He played with the Dixie Rebels Little League team, he also played football for Bonham Jr. High and Ector High School. While playing baseball; his position in the infield was not only being a pitcher but also alternating his position as playing short stop, he was also placed in the outfield by his baseball coach, playing him on all the outfield positions, and eventually being recognized and awarding him as the Most Valuable player in all the outfield positions. His love for sports also invited him to play football and become the kicker and punter for the Ector Eagles High School. During that time His team of the Ector Eagles was also the Co-District Champs with Pecos High School. Due to his terminal illness, he was eventually diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and was under the care of his family for several years and was transitioned to Crane Nursing Home in September of 2015.
Rudy is preceded in death by his granddaughter Arianie Rose Tijerina, sisters Velia Carrasco, Yolanda Rodriguez, Socorro Del Bosque, Nina Carrasco, brothers Armando Urias, Ruben Urias, Samuel Urias, Jose Urias, parents Manuel and Manuela Urias.
Rudy is survived by Rudy V. Urias, Jr., Crissy Urias Tijerina (Tim), Esmeralda Urias Pineda (Jason Lee), and Juan Manuel Urias (Reanna Marie). Sisters Glinda Bitolas (Manuel), Ralph Lanny Urias (Mary), and Sylvia Pilar Villareal (Gilbert Sr.).
Grandchildren Ethan Madero, Emmanuel “Nano” Urias, Elijah “Bear” Urias, Devon Urias, Alikai Ray Oranday, Jaiden Tijerina, Davion “DayDay” Tijerina, Julian “Juju” Tijerina, Kaliyah Raiyne Tijerina, Isaac Michael Beseril, Isaiah Anthony Beseril, Destiny Anastasia Pineda, Serenity Justice Pineda, Faith Kataleeya Pineda, Jazlynn Zoe Urias, and Jesus Galaviz.
Pallbearers will be Rudy Urias, Jr., Ethan Madero, Emmanuel Urias, Elijah Urias, Isaac Beseril, Isaiah Beseril, Jaiden Tijerina, and Davion Tijerina. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jason Pineda, Jesus Galaviz, and Julian Tijerina.
Memorials may be given to his children.
