Santiago "Jimmy" Martinez Sr, 78, of Odessa, TX passed away on May 10, 2016 at home in Odessa. TX.
Visitation will be 11:00am -5pm Saturday, May 14, 2016 and 12pm - 9pm Sunday, May 15th at
Martinez Funeral Home in Odessa, TX.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm Monday, May 16, 2016 at Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God with Rev. Cecil R. Kelley officiating.
Burial will follow at Peaceful Garden Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home.
Jimmy was born in Ozona TX to Ernesto Sr. and Leonor Martinez on October 3, 1937. He attended and graduated from Ozona High School.
He married Stella Morin on December 31, 1956 in Ozona. He served for 21 years and retired from the U. S. Air Force.
He graduated from DeVry University and worked and retired from E F Data. He loved to play golf.
He married Elena Gonzales on November 7, 2012 in Odessa.
As an ordained minister, Jimmy loved serving the Lord and spreading His word.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, and his sister Olga Sanchez, brothers Ernesto Jr. and Samuel Martinez, sister-in-law
Andrea Martinez, brother-in-law Jaime Ramirez Sr., son Santiago "Jimmy" Jr. and grandson, Daniel Reynolds.
He is survived by wife, Elena,
Daughters Karen Reynolds (David) of Mesa, AZ , Sundra Gonzales (Alex) of Gilbert, AZ , step-daughters
Elena Carrasco (Caleb) and Adela Ruiz of Odessa.
Sons, Damien "Marty" Knight of Phoenix, AZ, Darryl Martinez (Heather) of Mesa, AZ, step-sons Benito Ruiz (Marian) of Midland,
Rogelio Gonzales and Estevan Gonzales (Samantha) of Odessa.
Sisters Edna Ramirez of Odessa and Eva Armesto (Stephen) of Burleson TX. Sisters-in-law, Elvira Martinez of Ozona, TX and
Concepcion "Connie" Martinez of Pomona, CA. Brothers Sergio Martinez (Nevis) of Kansas City MO and Alonzo Martinez of Ft. Stockton TX.
10 Grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Caleb Carrasco, Rogelio Gonzales, Luis Suarez, Benito Ruiz, Dylan & Mark Levario, Jaime Ramirez Jr, and Rowland Ramirez Sr.
