Socorro Gomez

Socorro ‘Cora’ Gomez, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister died, Saturday, January 30, 2021, in Odessa, Texas. She was 77 years old. Socorro was born on April 13, 1943 in Marfa, Texas.

Socorro lived a fulfilling life as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was a very giving & helpful person. She cooked, donated and served food for many different occasions.

Socorro is survived by 2 sisters & 2 brothers; Olivia & husband Pilar Moreno of Odessa, TX, Jose & wife Audrey of New Windsor, NY, Maria Vasquez of Odessa, TX, Eddie Armendarez of Odessa, TX. Her children; Ruben & wife Kim Armenta of St. James, MO, Michelle & husband Steve Vannier of Colbert, OK, Naomi Gomez Gray of Radcliff, KY, and Raymond & wife Rose Vasquez of Odessa, TX. Grandchildren; Steven, Ashley & Alex Armenta; Chriselda Segura, Jose Antonio & Tino Saucedo, Emelio Gonzales & Nathan Vannier; Arminda, Shelby & Dustin Gray; Raymon & Justin Vasquez & Briana Madrid, 18 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is proceeded in death by her parents Federico & Manuela Armendarez and sister Francis Baca.

Pallbearers will be Raymon & Justin Vasquez, Tino Saucedo, Carlos F. Segura II, Gilbert Armenta, and Arturo Vasquez. Honorary Pallbearers are Steven Armenta, Dustin Gray, Freddie & Ismael Armenta, Bobby & Roger Baca, Manuel & Jessie Vasquez.

Visitation will be at Martinez Funeral Home (Outside Chapel) February 1, 2021 at 10:00 am – 12:00 pm for family and from 1:00 pm - 9:00 pm for the public with a Rosary at 7:00pm

Funeral Service will be Tuesday February 2, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery Odessa.
