Tony Barrientes

Seturnino Barrientz Jr (aka Tony Barrientes), of Lamesa, Texas, passed away on January 5, 2024, in Odessa, Texas.

Tony was born in Lamesa, Tx to Seturnino Barrientes Sr. and Marcella Tamayo Barrientes on March 20, 1947. He married Ofelia Lujan Barrientes on October 25, 1969, in Odessa, Texas. He worked as a mechanic at General Tire Rubber Company for 30 years, then went on to Family Dollar Distribution Center, then when retired, was a Member of Odessa’s Citizens on Patrol. Tony loved music. He was a singer and played the accordion with several bands since he was a young man. His last “gig” was when he sang for the Lord at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.

Tony is preceded in death by Seturnino Barrientes Sr, Marcella Barrientes, David Barrientes, Virginia Barrientes Longoria, Jessica Trejo.

Tony is survived by Ofelia Barrientes, Chris and Rebecca Barrientes, Monica and Roman Weathermon, Isabel and Christina Ornelas, Ray and Dena Castillo, Anthony Lujan, Edward and Cecilia Rosas, Troy and Bertha Barrientes, Adolfo and Marcella Aguirre, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Tuesday January 9, 2024 from 1:00PM – 9:00PM with a Rosary at 7:00PM. Mass will be held 2:00PM Wednesday January 10, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Joe Uecker Officiating.

Pall bearers will be Roman Weathermon, Isabel Ornelas, Ray Castillo, Eric Ornelas, Ryan Ornelas, and Jaron Salazar.
