Victor "Lipas" Nunez, 67, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on April 23 in Odessa.
Visitation will begin Thursday, April 27 at Martinez Funeral Home at 5 PM. Rosary will be held Friday, April 28 at 7 PM at St. Anthony Catholic Church located at 1321 W. Monahans Odessa, Texas 79761.
Funeral services will be held 9:00 AM Saturday April 29th at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Chavez officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Martinez Funeral Home.
Lipas was born in Odessa, Texas to Victor "Chino" Nunez and Angela Nunez on October 11, 1949. He attended ECISD Schools and graduated from Ector High School in 1968. He married Mary Vasquez on May 30th 1970 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Odessa, Texas. He was a welder by trade and retired from Compressor Systems. He played baseball for the Ector Eagles and loved to play softball, enjoyed camping and playing golf. He loved the Texas Longhorns, Dallas Cowboys, and The Texas Rangers. He cherished his time with his grandkids. Lipas was a little league and softball coach, Youth group sponsor, C.C.D teacher, member of the St. Anthony's Parrish Council and the Knights of Columbus. He was known to his family and friends as "The Man, The Myth, The Legend."
Lipas is preceded in death by his parents Victor "Chino" and Angela Nunez.
Lipas is survived by his Wife Mary Nunez, Sons Martin and Wife Audrey, Michael and Wife Jennifer, Sister Janie and Husband Jorge Rodriguez, Brother/Uncle Noro Nunez, Grandchildren Brian Nunez and Wife Samantha, Amanda, and Jacob Nunez, Austin and Brittany Salazar, Kieryn, Heighlyn, Magdelyn, and Seraphyn Nunez, Lyndon Abney, Devin and Ryann Everhart. Great Grandson Luke "Bear" Nunez and Great Granddaughter Camrynn Abney. Honorary Brother Martin Doporto. Numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Michael Nunez, Brian Nunez, Kieryn Nunez, John Armendariz, Marcus Doporto, and Hector Acosta. Honorary Pallbearer Jacob Nunez.
Memorials may be given to St. Anthony's Flower Fund at St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
